Rent a car
Although the Minorca island is small, you might need to rent a car or motorcycle in order to move inside the island. Using the public and private transport buses can be tedious.
If you can not or don’t want to rent a scooter or a motorcycle, my suggestion is hiring the smallest car possible: Parking in the town centers of Mahón or Ciutadella, beaches and during traditional feasts in other towns like Alaior, Ferreries or Sant Lluis can be a burden. The smaller your vehicle is the easier it would fit somewhere. By the way I have to mention that most of the roads leading to popular sites and beaches of the Minorca island like Cala Turqueta are pretty narrow. Therefore it is wise to think twice before renting a 4×4.
By the way Minorcan local authorities is very sensitive on the road security issue. Please, don’t drink and drive.
